Welcome to the online component for your faith formation! After each class, you will have a month to visit the Student Page to listen, watch, and read materials based on what you learned. These mini-sessions are meant to build upon what you learned in class, and give you tools to continue to grow deeper in your faith.
In each section, you will find:
- LEARN MORE: This section summarizes what we learned, and gives you additional information that builds upon what we learned, either through a video or an article.
- SAINT PROFILES: In this section, you will explore the lives of different saints and learn how they followed Christ through their words and actions. As you read each saint profile, consider the virtues they practiced, the challenges they faced, and what lessons their lives can teach us today. The goal is to discover role models of faith and reflect on how their example can inspire your own life.
- HOMEWORK: In this section you will find the homework that touches on the topics covered in class along with the information shared here. Please complete your homework assignments in the Google Form at the bottom of each section. If you have any trouble, have your parents email me at

This month, we spoke about what faith is (and what it is not), how we can grow in our faith, and how we can live our faith in the ordinary parts of our lives. We talked about how important it was to have our foundation in our faith when times get difficult in order to lead us through.
Faith is a gift from God, but is not something that remains the same; it ebbs and flows as we grow, but we can never lose it. Even if we sometimes feel like we lost our faith or we are doubting, the beauty about the gift of faith is that it can never be lost. Watch this video by Fr. Mike Schmitz regarding faith:

Saint Profiles: Saint Matthias
Who was St. Matthias?
"Someone had to step up." After Judas left the group of apostles, the early Church needed someone to continue the mission. Matthias answered that call. Each of us is called to step into our own place in God's plan.
"We're the next runners in the relay." Just as Matthias received the faith from those before him, we receive the faith from our families, teachers, priests, and saints. Now it's our turn to carry the baton and eventually pass it on to others.
"Faithfulness matters more than fame." Matthias isn't mentioned much in the Bible before he was chosen. He had quietly followed Jesus for years. God often calls people who have been faithful in the small, everyday moments.
"Be ready when God calls." Matthias didn't campaign for the role or seek attention. When the opportunity came, he was prepared because he had already been living as a faithful disciple.
"St. Matthias reminds us that God's story didn't end with the first apostles. They passed the faith to the next generation, and then to the next, and eventually to us. It's like a relay race. Each generation faithfully carries the baton for a while before handing it off. Today, we're the ones holding the baton. The question isn't whether we're perfect—it's whether we'll run our part of the race with faith, courage, and love."
