“Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.”
Proverbs 8:34
The Usher Ministry is one of radical hospitality: to prepare the house for the guest as if Christ were that very guest, looking for a seat around the table. An usher is someone who has a welcoming heart, a warm smile, and a genuine care for all those who enter Mount Carmel.
An usher’s duty is to warmly welcome, especially the stranger and those with special needs, to a comfortable place in the assembly, help with the collection of tithes, and to kindly direct, in an orderly manner, those who are receiving Communion. They care for the inside of the church building, making sure the environment is safe, clean, and prepared for worship.
