Welcome to the online component for your faith formation! After each class, you will have a month to visit the Student Page to listen, watch, and read materials based on what you learned. These mini-sessions are meant to build upon what you learned in class, and give you tools to continue to grow deeper in your faith.
In each section, you will find:
- LEARN MORE: This section summarizes what we learned, and gives you additional information that builds upon what we learned, either through a video or an article.
- SAINT PROFILES: In this section, you will explore the lives of different saints and learn how they followed Christ through their words and actions. As you read each saint profile, consider the virtues they practiced, the challenges they faced, and what lessons their lives can teach us today. The goal is to discover role models of faith and reflect on how their example can inspire your own life.
- HOMEWORK: In this section you will find the homework that touches on the topics covered in class along with the information shared here. Please complete your homework assignments in the Google Form at the bottom of each section. If you have any trouble, have your parents email me at

This month, we learned all about sainthood—what does it mean to be a saint, what qualities saints have, and the fact that saints were not perfect people, but imperfect sinners who loved God and strove to follow His teachings. We went over some saints throughout history who, through their own unique circumstances, took up the mantle of virtue and became saints. Some of them were even those we didn’t expect to have become saints, if we had a say. We then spoke about how all people, even us, are called to be saints. This is what the Church calls the universal call to holiness: the idea that through our baptism, we have all been called to be holy, to become saints!

Saint Profiles: Saint James
Here are some ways you may relates to Saint James:
- Learning and growing: James wasn't perfect. He made mistakes and learned from them, just as middle school students are still learning and developing.
- Friendship: James was one of Jesus' close friends. Middle school is a time when friendships become very important, and students can learn about being loyal, kind, and supportive.
- Standing up for what is right: James followed Jesus even when it was difficult. Students can relate by choosing to do the right thing, even if it's unpopular.
- Courage: James showed bravery by sharing his faith despite danger. Middle school students may need courage to stand up to peer pressure, bullying, or unfair situations.
- Serving others: James learned that true greatness comes from serving others, not from being the most popular or successful. Students can practice this by helping classmates, including others, and volunteering.
- Faith in everyday life: James teaches that faith should be shown through actions. Students can live out their values by being honest, respectful, responsible, and compassionate at school and at home.
