How Do I?

Academy of Our Lady

Fr. Ron's Blog

Dear Friends,
This being Mother’s Day, we offer this prayer:

God Our Creator, we pray:
For new mothers, coming to terms with
new responsibility;
For expectant mothers, wondering
and waiting;
For those who are tired, stressed or
For those struggling to balance the tasks of work and family;
For those unable to feed their children due to poverty;
For those whose children have physical,
mental or emotional disabilities;
For those who have children they do
not want;
For those who raise children on their own;
For those who have lost a child;
For those who care for the children
of others;
For those whose children have left home;
And for those whose desire to be a mother
has not been fulfilled.
Bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and
tender, And that they may lead their children to know and do what is good, Living not for them-selves alone, but for God and for others.

To all mentioned above and for whom we pray, blessings this Mother’s Day. May you be filled with the same joy you bring to others and may the light of the Lord’s love shine always in your hearts. Please take a flower as an acknowledgement of the place you hold in the heart of our one, big parish family.

Close to the heart of all mothers – their children, and so I want to say a word of congratulations to the children at the Academy of Our Lady who recently put on the production of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. For the past several years the Theatre Arts Program has put on a major musical but scheduling conflicts have always prevented me from attending. But not this year. And what a great surprise to experience the wonder of the show, from the acting, to the costumes, to the staging. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! To faith formation, and academics, and extracurricular activities, you can now add theatre production as a reason to discover the treasure that is the Academy of Our Lady, and think about it as the place you might want to educate your child – the whole child.

Lastly, I want to say how happy I am that the most recent election is over. We often decry the level to which our national elections have sunk. Perhaps we need to look a little closer to home for that answer.
God Bless,
Fr. Ron
